The government has appointed Additional Inspector General (AIG) Mosleh Uddin Ahmed as the new Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. A notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Police-1 Branch confirmed the appointment on Sunday (May 17). Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, who was serving as the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been transferred and posted as the DMP Commissioner. The order stated that the decision has been issued in the public interest and will take immediate effect. With this appointment, he replaces the outgoing commissioner of the capital’s main law enforcement agency responsible for maintaining law and order in Dhaka.

পুলিশের অপরাধ তদন্ত বিভাগের (সিআইডি) প্রধান অতিরিক্ত আইজিপি মোসলেহ্ উদ্দিন আহমেদকে ডিএমপির নতুন কমিশনার হিসেবে নিয়োগ দিয়েছে সরকার। রোববার (১৭ মে) স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের পুলিশ-১ শাখা থেকে জারি করা এক প্রজ্ঞাপনে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়। প্রজ্ঞাপন বলা হয়েছে, অপরাধ তদন্ত বিভাগ (সিআইডি) অতিরিক্ত আইজিপি মোসলেহ্ উদ্দিন আহমেদকে ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) কমিশনার হিসেবে বদলি ও পদায়ন করা হলো। জনস্বার্থে জারি করা এ আদেশ অবিলম্বে কার্যকর হবে বলে প্রজ্ঞাপনে জানানো হয়েছে।
