The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the first two ODIs of the upcoming series against Australia. The biggest surprise in the squad is the return of all-rounder Mossadek Hossain Saikat after nearly four years.

Wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan has also returned to the squad. However, Afif Hossain and Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan, who were part of the New Zealand series, have been dropped.

Mossadek last played an ODI in August 2022. He made a strong case for his return with impressive performances in the recent Dhaka Premier League, catching the selectors' attention with consistent batting, including a century and two fifties for Abahani Limited.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz will lead the side in the first two ODIs. The squad features a mix of experienced and young cricketers.

The first ODI of the three-match series against Australia will be held on June 9 at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The second match will be at the same venue on June 11, with the third and final ODI on June 14. All three matches will start at 11:00 am.
