Mother, daughter found with throats slit in Khagrachari

A mother and daughter were found murdered in their home in Ramgarh upazila of Khagrachhari, with their throats slit.

The incident took place early Thursday (August 21) at Purbobagantila village in the upazila.

The victims were identified as Amena Begum, 90, and her daughter Raihana Akter, 42. Amena Begum had five sons and two daughters.

Police recovered the blood-stained bodies from the scene around noon on Thursday after being informed by locals.

The murders may have stemmed from an internal family conflict over property, police said.

Mohammad Moin Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ramgarh Police Station, said, "The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been informed to collect evidence from the crime scene."

"We are investigating the motive behind the murders and trying to identify those involved," he added.
