Moushumi Hamid makes public appearance with baby bump

Actress Moushumi Hamid surprised colleagues by appearing with a visible baby bump at the OTT platform Chorki's award ceremony last Friday, delivering a double dose of good news four months after fans were saddened by reports of her separation.

Hamid revealed she has remarried and is expecting her first child. Her husband, Abdul Wadud Sajib, works in the digital media and ad-tech sector.

Speaking about their relationship, the actress said the couple's bond went back well over a decade.

"We've been best friends for 14 years. We had a lot in common, which is why we decided to marry. I ask for everyone's prayers," she said.

News of her second marriage and pregnancy had remained largely unknown until Friday's event, where colleagues embraced her and offered congratulations upon seeing her.
Speaking to the media, Hamid explained why she chose the award ceremony as the moment to share her news.

"I wanted to surprise everyone, so I stepped out in public for the first time. I knew many people would be here and that I'd get to meet everyone. That's why I came with my husband, to share the news of becoming a mother," she said.

She also addressed why she had kept her second marriage under wraps for so long.

"Many people would have reported it incorrectly, which is why I hadn't told anyone until now. Through this event, everyone will know the correct news about my pregnancy. My unborn child and I are doing well, and I'm going through a new kind of emotion. I ask for everyone's prayers," she said.

Hamid married playwright Abu Sayeed Rana on January 12, 2024. Cracks emerged in the marriage within two years, and the couple separated in November 2025, with Hamid confirming the split publicly this past March.

Hamid began her entertainment career after finishing runner-up in the Lux Superstar competition. She has since built a following through television dramas, web content and film. She was most recently seen in the web film "Jiner Baccha," directed by Mostafizur Noor Imran.
