Muezzin of Masjid-e-Nabawi Sheikh Faisal Numan passes away
Sheikh Faisal bin Abdul Malik Numan, the longtime muezzin of the Masjid-e-Nabawi in Madinah, has passed away, leaving the global Muslim community mourning the loss of a devoted servant of Islam (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un).
According to Saudi Arabia-based website Inside the Haramain, Sheikh Faisal Numan’s funeral prayer was held at the Mosque premises after Fajr on Tuesday (December 23), followed by his burial at the historic Jannat al-Baqi cemetery in Madinah.
Sheikh Faisal Numan had served as the muezzin of the Masjid-e-Nabawi for nearly 25 years, since 1422 Hijri (2001 AD). Known for his soulful adhan and unwavering religious dedication, he earned a special place in the hearts of millions of Muslims worldwide.
He belonged to a family with a long-standing tradition of serving as muezzins at the Masjid-e-Nabawi; his father was appointed at the age of 14, and his grandfather also held the revered position.
