Mushfiq finally returns home safely
Cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim was stranded at Jeddah airport in Saudi Arabia due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Ending all uncertainties, he landed at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday morning, March 2.
Later, his wife Jannatul Kifayet confirmed on social media that Mushfiq had reached home safely.
After performing Umrah, Mushfiq was scheduled to return home via Dubai last Saturday. However, the Emirates flight carrying him was forced to turn back to Jeddah mid-air due to the war situation.
The 'Mr Dependable' was stranded at the airport along with thousands of other passengers. Following the news, under the personal supervision and intervention of Youth and Sports Minister Aminul Haque, he departed for home late Sunday night.
After Mushfiq's safe return, his wife Jannatul Kifayet expressed relief in a Facebook post. She wrote, "Alhamdulillah, Mushfiq has reached home safely. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala has made everything easy for him. Thank you to everyone who worried and stood by us mentally." She also prayed for the ongoing global unrest to end soon.
