Mushfiqur Rahim now calls for justice in Jahanara's issue
After Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Tamim Iqbal, Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim has spoken out on the sexual harassment allegations raised by former women’s team captain Jahanara Alam.
In a Facebook post on Friday night (November 7), Mushfiqur said, “I may not know the full truth, but I firmly believe there is no place for harassment of any kind—regardless of gender or position. If the allegations are proven, the perpetrators must face due punishment and accountability.”
He also expressed solidarity with the victims and prayed for their strength.
Earlier, Jahanara alleged in a YouTube interview that she had reported incidents of harassment to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) but received no response.
Mashrafe and Tamim have both called for an independent, unbiased investigation.
Meanwhile, accused coach Manjurul Islam also responded on Facebook, saying the BCB has already announced a probe committee that will submit its report within 15 working days.
He added that he is ready to face any inquiry, including a state-level one, and will refrain from further comment until then.
