Mushfiqur Rahim sets world record
Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has etched his name in cricket history by setting a new world record.
During the morning session of the second day of the ongoing Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle, Mushfiqur surpassed Australian legend Adam Gilchrist’s record for the most international runs scored by a player who has never bowled a ball.
Gilchrist had amassed 15,461 runs across all formats—Test, ODI, and T20—without ever bowling in international cricket. Mushfiqur’s latest feat now places him at the top of this unique list.
Other notable players in the top five include South Africa’s Quinton de Kock (12,654 runs), England’s Jos Buttler (11,881 runs), and Jonny Bairstow (11,581 runs).
