Mushfiqur to return home tonight's flight: Sports State Minister
Former Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim, stranded at Jeddah airport due to escalating conflicts in the Middle East, is set to return home on a night flight, Aminul Haque, the State Minister for Youth and Sports, confirmed Sunday (March 1).
The minister said he spoke directly with Mushfiqur and is coordinating with the Bangladesh Cricket Board. "He is expected to depart Sunday night and arrive in Dhaka by Monday morning."
Mushfiqur, who had recently completed Umrah in Mecca, shared on social media that his flight via Dubai was delayed due to regional hostilities, leaving him and other passengers stranded at Jeddah airport.
Aminul Haque added that Mushfiqur is in good health and expressed hope that other Bangladeshi athletes and citizens stranded abroad will also return safely.
