Musk expresses regret over posts about Trump
Billionaire Elon Musk said on Wednesday that he regrets some of the posts he made last week about U.S. President Donald Trump, acknowledging that they “went too far.”
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO and the former president had exchanged sharp insults on social media. Musk described Trump’s recent sweeping tax and spending bill as a “disgusting abomination.”
Trump declared on Saturday that their relationship was over but later softened his stance, saying he wouldn’t mind if Musk called to wish him well.
“I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on his social media platform X. He did not specify which posts he was referring to.
Following Musk’s statement, Tesla shares in Frankfurt rose 2.44%.
Since the feud began, Musk has deleted some critical posts about Trump, including one that expressed support for impeaching the president. Sources close to Musk say his anger is subsiding and suggest he may seek to mend ties with Trump.
