Mustafiz named in Wisden’s T20 Team of the Year

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman enjoyed an excellent year in T20 cricket, both for the national team and across various franchise leagues. In recognition of his performances, the “Cutter Master” has earned a place in Wisden’s T20 Team of the Year.

With the upcoming T20 World Cup in focus, the year saw a packed schedule of international and franchise cricket. Wisden’s editorial board selected the team based solely on performances in T20 cricket during 2025.

Mustafizur claimed 59 wickets in 2025, with an economy rate of 6.78. His bowling average of 18.03 is the best among bowlers who delivered at least 150 overs during the year. No pacer was more economical than him throughout the season.

India’s Abhishek Sharma and England’s Phil Salt feature as openers in the XI, with South Africa’s Dewald Brevis batting at number three. The all-rounders in the side are Sam Curran, Donovan Ferreira, Tim David, Sunil Narine and Jason Holder.

In the bowling attack, Mustafizur is joined by New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy and India’s Varun Chakravarthy.
