Nation eyeing Dr Yunus–Tarique Rahman meeting: Prince

BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince said the entire nation is closely watching the high-level meeting in London between the interim government and BNP. He believes this meeting could mark a turning point in resolving the current political crisis.

He said, “The nation expects a realistic new election timeline from the meeting between Dr. Yunus and Tarique Rahman.”

Speaking at an Eid reunion event at Bonpara College field at Haluaghat Upazila of Mymensingh, Prince said, “A mass movement and a free, fair, neutral, and acceptable election reflecting the people's aspirations can be the greatest reform. Elected representatives will play a key role in establishing democracy and building an inequality-free state.”

As the chief guest, the BNP leader said, “The entire nation is eagerly waiting for an early election. Fulfilling this national expectation is the only duty of the interim government and political parties. If the election is delayed to favor someone, people will not accept it. That will also harm the country.”
