From a remote farming village in Natore’s Lalpur upazila to becoming the brightest name in district-level women’s football — schoolgirl Aleya Khatun has captured attention with a stunning run of performances in the 'Notun Kuri Sports-2026' talent hunt tournament.

The seventh-grade student from Lalpur Pilot Girls’ High School produced a rare feat by scoring a hat-trick in all three matches she played, guiding Lalpur upazila to the championship title in dominant fashion.

Aleya first announced herself with a hat-trick in Lalpur’s 3-0 victory over Natore Municipality in the opening match. She followed it up with another three-goal performance as Lalpur crushed Singra upazila 6-0 in the semifinals. In the final, she once again stole the show, netting a third consecutive hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Gurudaspur to seal the title.

Her extraordinary consistency and goal-scoring ability earned her the award for Best Female Footballer of Natore district in the tournament.

Aleya hails from Jotdaibaki village in Lalpur and comes from a financially struggling farming family. Growing up in a household with four sisters and one brother, she has battled poverty while pursuing her passion for football.

Her father, a farmer, has been her biggest supporter and encouragement behind her football journey. Inspired by him, Aleya joined the North Bengal Football Academy, where she now trains regularly under coach Jewel at the North Bengal Sugar Mill ground.

Despite the hardships, Aleya dreams of one day wearing the red-and-green jersey of Bangladesh and representing the country on the international stage.

Local sports enthusiasts and residents believe that with proper support and training, the teenage forward has the potential to become one of the future stars of Bangladesh women’s football.
