Nazmul responds to show-cause notice: ‘I’ve become popular’

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director M. Nazmul Islam, who faced a show-cause notice over controversial remarks about players, has finally submitted his response.

Earlier, BCB asked him to respond by January 17, but he had missed the original deadline for replying.

On Sunday night (January 8), Nazmul submitted his reply to the BCB. The board’s director and disciplinary committee chairman, Fayazur Rahman, said the response appears “positive” at first glance. The notice will be reviewed, and the next steps will be decided soon.

In his reply, Nazmul stated, “I’ve become popular,” referring to the attention his controversial comments generated.

The Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) had earlier demanded his resignation.

The incident has sparked discussions within the board and on social media, raising questions about player respect and cricketing discipline.
