NCP announces 36-point election manifesto

National Citizen Party, NCP, one of the partners in the 11-party electoral alliance, has announced its election manifesto ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election.

The party unveiled its 36-point manifesto at an event held at La Vita Hall of Lakeshore Grand Hotel in Gulshan on January 30.

The manifesto prioritises ensuring justice and accountability, protecting human rights, reducing corruption and tax evasion, creating employment, improving education and healthcare, increasing minimum wages and social security for workers, empowering women, providing special benefits for expatriates and farmers, controlling environmental pollution, improving public transport and housing, building a digital and cashless economy, boosting investment and industrialisation, strengthening diplomatic relations and modernising the armed forces.

Titled manifesto of youth and dignity, the declaration also emphasises economic, social and cultural liberation, establishing a discrimination-free society and taking a tough stance against injustice and extortion.

NCP convener Nahid Islam and party spokesperson and central election management committee chairman Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan were present at the event alongside senior leaders, diplomats, civil society representatives and journalists from local and international media.
