At least 1,929 people have been hospitalised in Israel since the start of Iranian missile and drone attacks, the country's Health Ministry has reported.

According to ministry figures, 157 new patients were admitted in the past 24 hours. Repeated missile warnings and sirens have been sounding across various parts of Israel during this period.

Authorities said nine of the injured are in serious condition and 42 have sustained moderate injuries. Approximately 70 people suffered minor injuries and have received treatment.

Health officials noted that most injuries were not directly caused by missile strikes, but rather from falls, collisions or other accidents occurring as people rushed to shelters or safe areas when sirens sounded.

The ministry said the majority of hospitalisations have been indirectly caused, with relatively few casualties from direct missile impacts.

The conflict, now in its second week, began after the United States and Israel launched joint strikes on various Iranian nuclear and missile facilities. In response, Iran has been conducting continuous missile and drone attacks on Israel and other targets in the region, repeatedly activating Israel's air defence systems and forcing civilians into shelters.

Meanwhile, Iranian officials and the Iranian Red Crescent Society have reported significantly higher casualties in Iran, claiming over 1,300 people have been killed in the country since the conflict began.
