Nepal home minister resigns amid financial controversy
Nepal's Home Minister Sudan Gurung has resigned following controversy over his financial dealings.
He announced his resignation on social media on Wednesday, April 22, stating he was stepping down to ensure a fair investigation into allegations against him and to avoid influencing the probe while in office.
Recent media reports revealed that Gurung had business partnerships with a businessman under investigation for money laundering. His organisation was also alleged to have received funds from questionable sources.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah will oversee the home ministry until a new minister is appointed.
