"New Cabinet likely to be formed by January 15"

The ruling Awami League and its allies are likely to form the new Cabinet by 15 January, after registering a landslide victory in the 12th national election on Sunday.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid predicted the time frame. He came up with the prediction while talking to the reporters at the Secretariat in the capital on Monday.

Discussing about forming the new Cabinet, Nasrul Hamid said, “I believe it will be completed by 15 January.”

“One of the biggest challenges of the government will be to ensure uninterrupted and affordable power-fuel supply. We will need the cooperation of the finance department. Work must be done to bring inflation under control. The automatic system will be introduced to determine electricity and fuel prices as per international norms," he added.

Nasrul Hamid was elected from Dhaka-3 (Keraniganj) constituency for the third consecutive time.
