New Nokia phone with reverse charging runs 40 days on single charge

HMD has introduced the Nokia 300 Charge, a feature phone with an exceptional feature—its battery can be used to charge other compatible devices . A dedicated 'Out' button and a USB Type-C port enable this reverse charging functionality . The phone is currently available in the Philippines .

The phone features a large, user-replaceable 3,700mAh battery, which HMD claims is the biggest ever in a Nokia-branded feature phone . It delivers up to approximately 37.9 hours of talk time and over 40 days of standby time on a full charge. The reverse charging capability provides up to 10W of power for other devices .

The Nokia 300 Charge measures 136.55mm in height, 55mm in width, and 14.94mm in thickness, weighing 138 grams . It has a 2.4-inch QVGA display and a QVGA camera on the back. The phone runs on the S30+ software and is powered by a Unisoc SC6531E processor. It comes with 4MB of RAM and 4MB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card .

In terms of connectivity, it is a basic 2G device supporting GSM 900 and 1800 bands . The phone includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. The USB Type-C port is used for both charging the phone's battery and providing power to other devices .

A high-power torch is another notable feature. According to HMD, it can be up to four times brighter than the torch on the Nokia 105, making it useful as an emergency light source .

The Nokia 300 Charge is currently priced at 2,190 Philippine pesos (approximately $38) in the Philippines . It is available in black, green, and sandstone colours . While the model is listed on HMD's global website, a specific release date for other markets has not been announced . As a 2G device, its usability may be limited in regions where 2G networks have been phased out.
