New trend in fashion with single-colour look ‘monochrome’

In fashion now not only design or variety of colours is getting importance, many are also equally considering the comfort and simple beauty of clothes. In continuation of this the trend of single-colour clothes has become popular in international fashion. This tendency is also gradually making a place in the fashion of Bangladesh, which is known by the name ‘monochrome fashion’.

The word monochrome has come from ‘mono’ and ‘chrome’. The meaning of the first is one, and the meaning of the second is colour. That is, creating a look by using the same colour or different shades of the same colour is the main feature of monochrome fashion. A specific colour can be kept in the entire clothing, or again several light and dark shades of the same colour can also be used together.

Many have the idea that the combination of white and black is monochrome look. Actually the idea is broader. This style can be created centering red, blue, green, yellow or any other colour. If shoes, bags, jewellery or other accessories are chosen matching the clothes of the same colour, a coordinated atmosphere comes to the entire look.

The popularity of this trend is comparatively higher among the young generation. However, monochrome fashion is not stuck in the boundary of age. Fashion houses of the country are creating single-colour clothes for women and men of different ages as well as for children. Use of this style is being seen in various types of clothes starting from saree, kamiz, panjabi.

There is also variety in the type of fabric in monochrome clothes. These clothes are being made by using various fabrics like linen, viscose, diamond georgette and double georgette. Especially in sarees different dimension is being brought by using designs of multiple shades of the same colour. Choosing a blouse of the same colour or nearby shade with it completes the look.

In monochrome look selection of accessory materials along with clothes is also important. Bangles, earrings, necklace, watch and shoes can be selected keeping harmony with the clothes. Choosing light colour shades in the summer season makes the look as gentle as it further brings out the simple beauty of single-colour clothes.
