News of my death is false: Runa Laila
After participating in an award ceremony in Delhi, India, rumors of death spread on social media surrounding legendary Bangladeshi singer Runa Laila. This created concern among her fans at home and abroad.
However, the renowned singer later clarified the matter herself. In her Facebook status, she said that she is completely healthy and the news of death is completely baseless.
Runa Laila wrote, "Some strange rumors are being spread about my death. I want to clarify that I am fine and healthy. I request everyone not to share such news without verification."
She also said that after the rumors spread, many people from different countries—including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, the United States and the United Kingdom—have called and messaged her, which surprised her.
Expressing anger over the spread of such fake news, she said, "These rumors cause mental distress not only to me personally, but also to my family."
Runa Laila believes that there may be an organized group behind such rumors and it is necessary to investigate the matter and identify those responsible.
It is worth noting that Runa Laila has long been known as one of the most popular and influential vocalists in the music world of the subcontinent.
