Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H Mansur has said the country is not facing any dollar shortage. He made the statement at the Fourth Bangladesh Economic Summit in Dhaka on Saturday (November 29). The governor stated that there is “no concern” over imports ahead of Ramadan, noting that import volumes for all essential goods have increased. He added that the exchange rate has been made market-based to help reduce inflation, and the policy has proven effective. “We can import as much as we need; the banking sector is not facing any import-related hurdles,” he said. Regarding difficulties faced by some importers, the governor remarked, “If someone cannot import, that is their own issue. After importing goods, bringing in the required funds is the responsibility of the business.”

বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের গভর্নর ডঃ আহসান হাবীব মনসুর বলেছেন, দেশে ডলার সংকটের কোনো পরিস্থিতি নেই। তিনি এই মন্তব্য করেছেন শনিবার (২৯ নভেম্বর) ঢাকা শহরে অনুষ্ঠিত চতুর্থ বাংলাদেশ ইকোনমিক সামিটে। গভর্নর বলেন, রমজানকে সামনে রেখে আমদানির বিষয়ে কোনও উদ্বেগ নেই। তিনি আরও বলেন, মুদ্রার বিনিময় হার বাজারভিত্তিক করা হয়েছে মুদ্রাস্ফীতি হ্রাসে সাহায্য করার জন্য, এবং এই নীতি কার্যকর প্রমাণিত হয়েছে। তিনি বলেন, “আমরা যত চাই আমদানি করতে পারি ব্যাংকিং খাত আমদানি-সংক্রান্ত কোনো বাধার মুখে পড়ছে না।” কিছু আমদানি কারীর সমস্যার প্রসঙ্গে গভর্নর বলেন, “যদি কেউ আমদানি করতে না পারে, তাহলে তা তাদের নিজের বিষয়। পণ্য আমদানি করার পর প্রয়োজনীয় অর্থ তোলা ব্যবসার দায়িত্ব।”
