Norway beat Denmark on Haaland's brace

Norway were at risk of dropping points despite going two goals ahead early on. In the end, their saviour was once again Erling Haaland. Norway began their UEFA Nations League campaign with a win, beating Denmark 3-2 in a dramatic contest on the back of his brace.

In the Group 4 match of League A at home on Thursday, Norway took the lead in the 14th minute through Oscar Bobb's goal. Four minutes later, Haaland doubled the lead. Latching onto a teammate's through pass, he entered the box and scored with a powerful first-time shot from a difficult angle.

After falling two goals behind, Denmark pulled one back within just seven minutes. Mikkel Damsgaard scored with a superb free-kick over the defensive wall.

In the second half, Rasmus Højlund equalised for Denmark in the 60th minute with a close-range goal. The match then came alive. However, Norway ultimately secured victory with another goal from Haaland.

In the 74th minute, Haaland received a teammate's pass in the box and scored with a powerful first-time shot. His goal put Norway ahead again, and they eventually left the field with a 3-2 win.

Haaland had scored in four consecutive World Cup matches. He could not score only in the quarter-final, a match his team also did not win. After scoring regularly on his return to club football in the new season, the Manchester City forward has now maintained his scoring streak for the national team as well.

Haaland's total goals for Norway now stand at 64 in 56 matches.
