Oil tanker vessel attacked near strait of Hormuz
A crude oil tanker vessel named 'Skylight' was attacked Saturday approximately five nautical miles off Oman’s Musandam coast, the country’s Maritime Security Centre confirmed.
According to Al Jazeera, the vessel, flying the flag of Palau, was targeted in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a key international shipping route.
Four crew members were injured in the attack, while all 20 personnel aboard were safely evacuated to secure locations.
The attack follows two drone strikes earlier this week at Oman’s Duqm port, which left one foreign worker injured, highlighting escalating security concerns in the region.
Further details regarding the incident remain unclear.
