One killed in gunfight between two groups in Natore
Police have recovered the bullet-riddled body of a man named Azizul Islam Jharu following a gunfight between the Kakan and Belal groups over a sand quarry in Habirchar, a border area of Lalpur upazila in Natore.
The incident occurred early on Monday morning, June 8. The body was recovered later in the afternoon from inside a speedboat on the Padma River in Charjajira area of the upazila.
Lalpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam said a gunfight took place between the Kakan and Belal groups early in the morning over a sand quarry in the border area of Habirchar. Azizul Islam Jharu, a member of the Kakan group, was shot dead during the clash. The body was later recovered from inside a speedboat on the banks of the Padma River in the Charjajira area under Lalpur police station.
Preparations are underway to file a case at Lalpur Police Station. The deceased was a resident of the Pabanpara area in Bagatipara upazila.
