One minute silence observed for Venezuela ahead of England-Panama match

England and Panama held a minute's silence for the victims of the earthquake in Venezuela before taking to the field for their World Cup Group L match at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday (June 28).

The national anthems of both countries were played before the game, followed by a moment of silence. Players, match officials and thousands of spectators in the stands observed a minute's silence to pay tribute to the victims of the earthquake in Venezuela and to show solidarity with the people of the country.

The entire stadium fell silent for a moment to spread the message of grief around the world.
