Over 100 students who participated in July Uprising join JCD

More than a 100 students who participated in the July Uprising in Brahmanbaria have joined the district unit Chatra Dal.

They officially joined the JCD at the inauguration and gathering at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Bhasha Chattar in the town on Saturday (January 10) afternoon.

The new members of the JCD were welcomed with flowers by the chief guest, BNP nominated candidate for Brahmanbaria-3 (Sadar-Bijaynagar) constituency and party's central economic affairs secretary and district unit president Khaled Hossain Mahbub alias Shyamal.

At the beginning of the programme, a minute's silence was observed in memory of the students and the people martyred in the July Uprising, as well as former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

The programme was moderated by District unit BNP Joint Secretary Mainul Hossain Chapal and addressed by District Chhatra Dal Joint Convener Sajidur Rahman, former Vice President Mokarram Hossain, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology student and July Uprising student organizer Mohaiminul Ajbin, University of Brahmanbaria students Ashish Bhowmik and Tanni Akhter, Sonargaon University student Mahim Uddin, and student organizer Syed Mohammad Ali.
