More than 1,000 civilians have been killed in Iran since February 28 amid a reported joint US-Israel military operation, according to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA).

In its latest update, HRANA said a total of 1,097 civilians have died in the violence. Among them were 181 children under the age of 10, the rights monitor reported.

The group added that at least 5,402 civilians have been injured, including around 100 children.

According to HRANA, at least 104 attacks were recorded in the past 24 hours alone, targeting a range of sites including military bases, medical facilities and residential areas.

The organisation said hundreds of additional reported deaths are currently under review, suggesting the overall toll could rise further.
