Over 300 schools, airports in New Delhi receive bomb threat
More than 300 schools in New Delhi and several airports received a bomb threat email on Sunday, September 28, purportedly sent by a group calling itself “Terrorizers 111”. The message was delivered to the email accounts of the targeted schools at around 6:08am local time.
Among the schools warned were well-known institutions such as CRPF Public School in Dwarka and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya near Qutub Minar, NDTV reported, citing Delhi Police and fire service officials.
The email claimed explosives had been planted in school buildings and warned authorities that failure to act within 24 hours would result in mass bloodshed. The sender purported to be the group’s leader and issued menacing statements about being beyond restraint.
Delhi Police and fire service teams, including bomb disposal units, were dispatched to all schools named in the email and carried out searches. No suspicious items were found, police said. Authorities noted that similar hoax emails targeting schools in the capital have risen in recent weeks; previous scans also returned negative results.
