The attacks by Israel and the United States against Iran have stretched into an 11th consecutive day as of Tuesday, March 10. The death toll in Iran has now surpassed 1,700, with thousands more injured.

US President Donald Trump recently declared that they are going to launch the most horrific attacks yet on Iran. Following this, Israel and the US carried out massive strikes on Iran on Monday, March 9.

Describing the devastating attacks on Iran, Al Jazeera correspondent Mohammad Val referred to the night in Tehran as one of the most terrifying nights so far.

Reporting from Tehran, Mohammad Val said that explosions occurred one after another over the past few hours. So many explosions took place that it is difficult to count them. He said the windows of Al Jazeera's office shook from the massive explosions in Tehran.

Mohammad Val reported that they have information that similarly large explosions also occurred in the Karaj area north of Tehran. A residential area in eastern Tehran was subjected to horrific attacks, leaving at least 40 Iranians dead in this assault.

Al Jazeera reported that Tehran's air defence systems were highly active in the sky on Monday night. Flashes of light were seen repeatedly, especially in the eastern sky of Tehran.

Additionally, Isfahan was also subjected to extremely intense bombardment yesterday. The governor's office and a UNESCO-recognised ancient royal palace were targeted there.
