Bangladesh pacer Syed Khaled Ahmed has been presented with an opportunity to play in English county cricket. County side Kent have shown interest in taking him on board as a replacement for Shoriful Islam.

Bangladeshi pacer Hasan Mahmud is already playing for Kent this season. Kent had also requested Shoriful Islam for four Championship matches. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is reportedly not issuing a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for Shoriful, considering the additional workload on the player.

Following this, Kent have taken the initiative to bring in Khaled Ahmed as an alternative to Shoriful. According to reliable sources, the county side is moving forward with the matter of securing Khaled for four matches. If everything goes as planned, this will be the first time the Bangladeshi pacer will be seen in Kent's jersey in the traditional English county cricket.

Khaled has played 18 Tests for Bangladesh so far. The opportunity to prove himself by utilising seam and swing in English conditions could add valuable experience to his international career.

Several other Bangladeshi cricketers have previously played county cricket. Hasan Mahmud is performing excellently for Kent this season. Shakib Al Hasan has also previously played county cricket.

However, Kent are yet to make an official announcement regarding Khaled's signing.
