Pakistan foreign minister expresses condolences over Bangladesh floods, landslides

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed condolences over the ongoing floods and landslides in Bangladesh's south-eastern and north-eastern regions.

In a post on X on Sunday, July 12, Dar said he was deeply saddened by the devastating floods and landslides in Bangladesh. "My sincere condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and my prayers are with all those displaced and affected by the disaster," he wrote.

He also paid tribute to rescue workers, armed forces, medical teams and relief workers for their courage and dedication in helping those in need.

Expressing solidarity with the government and people of Bangladesh, Dar prayed for the success of ongoing rescue and relief efforts and the safety of all those affected.

According to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, seven districts—Khagrachhari, Rangamati, Bandarban, Cox's Bazar, Chattogram, Moulvibazar and Habiganj—have been affected by the floods, with over 1 million people affected and 44 deaths reported as of Saturday.
