Pakistan govt announces free bus, train rides in capital for a month

Amid the ongoing Iran war situation, the Pakistan government has declared all public transport fares free in the capital Islamabad for the next 30 days.

Country's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the matter on social media platform X on Friday, April 3.

In his post, he said under the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, all public transport fares in Islamabad will remain free for the next 30 days, effective from Saturday. The interior ministry will bear the cost of 350 million rupees for this initiative.
