'Pakistan will be wiped off map' if terror activities persist: Indian Army Chief
India's Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has warned Pakistan that it will be "wiped off the world map" if it continues to shelter and support terrorist groups .
The warning came during an interactive session at the 'Uniform Unveiled' event held at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi on Saturday, May 16 .
"If Pakistan continues to shelter terrorists and carry out anti-India activities, then it must decide whether it wants to remain part of geography or become history," General Dwivedi said .
The Army Chief was asked how the Indian Army would respond if a situation like last year's 'Operation Sindur' arose again. Responding, he reiterated, "Pakistan must decide if it wants to survive as part of geography or become a part of history" .
India launched 'Operation Sindur' on May 7 last year. New Delhi claimed its forces carried out precision strikes on various "terrorist infrastructures" in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the deadly attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir .
Pakistan subsequently launched counter-operations against India. A ceasefire was declared on May 10 after nearly 88 hours of military engagement between the two countries .
Earlier on Friday, Pakistan's Foreign Office summoned the Indian ambassador to protest what it called an "unprovoked ceasefire violation" by Indian forces along the Line of Control.
