Payment dispute between Parsa Evana and director
Months after the release of the telefilm ‘Nilanjona Express,’ prominent actress and dancer Parsa Evana has alleged that she has yet to receive her full remuneration. She further claimed that several members from the production team remain unpaid as well.
The project was released on the OTT platform Bongo in February and later made available on the platform's YouTube channel in May. Recently, Evana shared screenshots of several WhatsApp conversations on Facebook, stating that she has been waiting for her dues for seven months.
In her Facebook post, she wrote: "It’s not just me; many team members are yet to receive their payments. I was given a partial amount, but the full payment remains outstanding. I could look past that, but many in my team haven't been paid. As an artist, it is my responsibility to speak up about this."
She further emphasized the plight of the crew, adding, "I might tolerate my own dues being delayed, but what about the production boys who rely on daily wages? Those who work tirelessly hoping for a breakthrough deserve their fair share. We want an industry built on honesty, accountability, and professionalism."
Director refutes claims, citing harassment
However, the director of the telefilm, Farhad Ahmed Ishan, has strongly denied the allegations. Speaking to the media, he explained, "Parsa is owed a remaining balance of 10,000 BDT. I have been in regular contact with her and assured her that I would clear the amount soon. Yet, she abruptly posted this on Facebook, claiming that the production boys and many others are unpaid, which is completely untrue. Almost everyone has been fully paid, except for one or two individuals."
The director went on to level counter-accusations against the actress, claiming she threatened him despite being aware of his ongoing family crisis.
"For the past few months, I have been occupied with my mother’s medical treatment, which kept me away from regular work and led to financial constraints. I explained this to Parsa," Ishan stated. "In response, she threatened to see to it that I can no longer work in the industry. Furthermore, she leaked my personal phone number on Facebook, subjecting me to continuous harassment."
The public dispute over the financial dues has sparked intense debate across social media platforms, with no formal resolution reached between the two parties yet.
