pedestrian injured as twin cocktail exploded at TSC

A twin cocktail explosion occurred at the TSC premises of Dhaka University.

Witnesses said the explosion occurred at 9:15 pm on Wednesday (November 12).

A pedestrian was reportedly injured in the incident, but his identity was not immediately known.

A motorcycle parked on the side of the road was also damaged in the explosion.

The owner of the damaged motorcycle, Nazmus Shakib, said: “I was sitting next to it and drinking tea. Suddenly, a cocktail fell. I was a little shocked and went to the bike and saw that the oil tank was damaged.”

Dhaka University Associate Professor and Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed said that initially it is believed that someone threw the cocktails from inside Suhrawardy Udyan.

He said that the proctorial team has reached the spot and the police are conducting a raid in Suhrawardy Udyan. So far, no one has been identified, but CCTV footage is being reviewed.
