Perpetrators of Gaza hospital blast must be held responsible: Modi
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was "deeply shocked" by a blast at a Gaza hospital that health officials said killed hundreds of people, adding that the perpetrators must face justice.
"Civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict are a matter of serious and continuing concern," Modi wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "Those involved should be held responsible."
Health authorities in Hamas-ruled Gaza said the explosion killed between 200 and 300 people and was caused by the latest in a wave of Israeli air strikes.
The Israeli military blamed Palestinian groups, saying an outgoing Islamic Jihad rocket misfired and that it would provide evidence.
Israel is threatening a ground invasion following the devastating October 7 assault by Hamas militants.
