Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has congratulated the Bangladesh Under-20 football team for winning the SAFF U-20 Championship, defeating arch-rivals India in the final. In a message issued Friday night (April 3), the prime minister said the team’s achievement has brought pride to the nation and expressed hope that Bangladesh’s success in sports will continue in the future. Bangladesh secured the title after a goalless draw in regulation time before beating India 4-3 in a penalty shootout at the National Stadium in Malé of Maldives. The victory marks Bangladesh’s second consecutive SAFF U-20 title, following their previous triumph in 2024.
