PM Tarique Rahman holds talk with Saudi Foreign Minister in New York

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud in New York on Friday (September 25), with the two sides discussing ways to deepen Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia ties, including trade, investment, manpower and development cooperation.

The meeting was held at the UN Bilateral Booth (GAL-7) at the United Nations headquarters on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, PM’s Assistant Press Secretary KM Nazmul Haque said.

Tarique Rahman stressed the need to further broaden the longstanding and fraternal relations between the two countries, including through greater economic engagement and Saudi investment in Bangladesh.

The two sides also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Prince Faisal expressed Saudi Arabia’s interest in further advancing relations with Bangladesh, according to the briefing.
