He also conveyed gratitude for the steps taken by the Qatari government to ensure the safety and welfare of approximately 450,000 Bangladeshi expatriates residing in Qatar. The message also reaffirmed Bangladesh's commitment to stand by Qatar in its time of need.

The letter expressed deep appreciation to the Emir of Qatar for arranging a special air ambulance for former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia's emergency medical treatment in London in January and May 2025.

During the meeting, Humayun Kabir praised Qatar's role in regional peace, dialogue and humanitarian diplomacy. Discussions also focused on further strengthening Bangladesh-Qatar bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.

During the visit, he also met with Qatar's Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri and conveyed the Prime Minister's condolences over the death of his relative in a recent military helicopter crash.

Additionally, he visited the Bangladesh embassy in Doha and reviewed various aspects of expatriate welfare and bilateral cooperation.

The visit is expected to further strengthen the partnership between the two countries and bring new momentum to bilateral cooperation. After concluding his Doha visit, Humayun Kabir is scheduled to visit several other Gulf countries with the same objective.
