Police arrest 1,207 in nationwide special drive

Police have arrested 1,207 individuals across the country in a special drive targeting various criminal offences. The information was disclosed in a statement issued by Police Headquarters on November 29, Saturday.

According to Police Headquarters, a total of 762 people were arrested in the past 24 hours in connection with cases and warrants. In addition, another 445 individuals were detained for other offences during the operation.

The drive also led to the seizure of a foreign-made pistol, three locally made LG guns, four rounds of ammunition, three crude bombs, one magazine, five machetes, one cleaver, seven cartridges, one pipe gun and a locally made single-barrel LG, along with various sharp weapons.

Police Headquarters stated that such drives will continue to maintain law and order across the country.
