The screening of the movie 'Bonolota Express' in Taltala village of Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria has been stopped in the presence of police. The screening was organized by some local youth on Saturday evening (May 30).

Locals said that the movie was supposed to be screened at Annada Government High School on the same day by the Brahmanbaria Film Society. However, the organizers were forced to postpone the screening due to obstruction by Qawmi Madrasa students. Later, local youth announced a new screening in Taltala village of Kasba. However, the screening was not held after the police took up position there in the evening before the screening started.

One of the organizers, Adeeb Reza Rangan, said that they could not screen the movie again because the police left before the screening started.

Kasba police station OC Nazneen Sultana said that the police went there fearing that the movie would create an unstable environment. Some youth who had come home for Eid wanted to watch the movie together. After talking to the police, they closed the exhibition themselves.
