Pori Moni teams up with Chanchal Chowdhury in ‘Shasti’
Popular Dhallywood actress Pori Moni has once again come into the spotlight with a new film. She is set to act in ‘Shasti’, a film based on a short story by Rabindranath Tagore. Renowned actor Chanchal Chowdhury will star opposite her in the film.
A press conference was recently held at a five-star hotel in the capital to officially announce the project.
At the event, Pori Moni shared various experiences from her acting career. She said that she has faced different kinds of challenges throughout her journey. In her words, many people consider her something of an enemy. She remarked that her position in the industry and the nature of her work often make others uncomfortable.
Pori Moni further said that in some of her recent films, there were times when no male lead was present. This sparked various discussions and criticisms. She also hinted that even when she works with male actors, they are often unavailable during promotional activities. However, she expressed hesitation over whether such matters should be discussed publicly.
The film ‘Shasti’ is being directed by Lisa Gazi. According to sources, shooting is scheduled to begin around October–November this year.
Meanwhile, Pori Moni recently returned to the country after staying in Malaysia for nine consecutive days. She had gone there to attend a special event. After the event, she spent some time with her children at Langkawi Island, a popular tourist destination in Malaysia.
With a new film announcement, candid remarks on personal experiences, and discussions about her career, Pori Moni has once again become the centre of attention. Audience interest surrounding ‘Shasti’, based on a story by Rabindranath Tagore, is already visibly growing.
