In the country's urban and suburban areas, the trend of juvenile gangs is becoming increasingly alarming. They are getting involved in various crimes ranging from drug addiction to theft, robbery, extortion, harassment, assault, murder, and drug trafficking. Recently, after several incidents of multiple murders among juvenile gangs, the law enforcement agencies have become more vigilant. These incidents are very distressing for the country.

However, how do these juvenile gangs emerge in the cities? Sociologists explain that factors such as family disintegration, individual-centric lifestyles, the lure of adventure or power, involvement with drugs, and falling into the influence of friends contribute to the formation of juvenile gangs in society. Besides that, the decrease in opportunities for children and adolescents in sports, reduced access to various forms of entertainment, and not participating in cultural activities contribute to the rise of delinquency of this kind.

Due to the busyness of current times, many parents cannot allocate proper time for their children. They may not even inquire about what their children are doing, where they are going, who they are meeting, or what their needs are. As a result, these children seek refuge with friends and prefer spending more time with them. They often share similar mindsets and form small groups. Later these teenagers get involved in drugs or political activities for the sake of the leaders.

In addition, if one friend in the class becomes a member of a gang, it can influence another friend to join. Other boys may feel a bit intimidated by this type of association. As a result, it creates a sense of power in them. Later, they may start engaging in various unlawful activities, such as drug use or finding ways to fund their expenses. Afterwards, they find it challenging to break away get out. Moreover, it is often observed that adolescents, in order to strengthen their groups, initially provide drugs for free to attract classmates or friends. Later, they recruit them as members of their gang.

Parents can play the most significant role in preventing adolescents from getting involved with gangs. By keeping an eye on their children's activities and behavior, they can understand whether their children are getting involved with gangs or drugs. Experts suggest that if parents can identify whether their child is a gang member, there is nothing to be alarmed about. Instead, through some family efforts, it is possible to bring them back from this situation. Giving time to the child is essential for parents. Building trust and confidence with them is essential. Additionally, parents should be cautious about giving excessive pocket money to their children to prevent any misuse. In such situations, the best decision could be a change in the environment.

To combat juvenile delinquency, family responsibility is paramount. Therefore, it is essential for families to implement educational measures for them. Adolescents in this age group have easy access to the internet. Hence, by monitoring the types of websites they visit, it can be easily inferred by examining their device history. Besides, it is crucial for the family to pay attention to the friends who come to the adolescent's house or with whom they associate within families. In addition, law enforcement agencies also have the most significant responsibility in the prevention and control of juvenile delinquency.
