PSG clinches historic first UEFA Champions League title
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have secured their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, delivering a stunning 5-0 victory over Italian giants Inter Milan in the final held at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday night ( June 1).
From the opening whistle, PSG took control of the match. Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring in the 12th minute, capitalising on a brilliant assist from young French forward Désiré Doué.
Doué, just 21 years old, etched his name into the record books by scoring in the 20th minute, becoming the youngest player ever to score in a Champions League final. He added his second goal in the 63rd minute, all but sealing the outcome for the French side.
Winter signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli extended PSG’s lead further in the 73rd minute, and substitute Mayulu completed the rout in the 86th minute.
The emphatic win marks PSG’s first Champions League title, making them only the second French club to lift the trophy after Marseille. The victory also marks a major milestone for head coach Luis Enrique, who led a youthful PSG squad to glory without global superstars such as Messi, Neymar, Mbappé, or Ramos—players the club had heavily invested in over previous seasons.
For Inter Milan, coached by Simone Inzaghi, the loss was their second Champions League final in three seasons.
