Putin, leaders of six countries congratulate President Mirza Fakhrul

Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leaders of six other countries have congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on assuming office as President of Bangladesh.

The President’s Press Wing at Bangabhaban confirmed the development on Friday (August 28).

Leaders from Europe and Central Asia sent messages of congratulations and best wishes following Fakhrul’s assumption of the presidency.

Those who conveyed greetings included Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as the presidents or heads of government of Belarus, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Montenegro.

The messages congratulated Mirza Fakhrul on his appointment as Bangladesh’s President and conveyed wishes for his success in office.
