RAB arrests 8 members of 'Patali Group' in Mohammadpur
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2) has arrested eight members of the alleged 'Patali Group' in a special operation in the capital's Mohammadpur area.
The late-night raid on Saturday was conducted on the basis of intelligence inputs, RAB-2's media wing confirmed to journalists on Sunday morning (June 28).
Among those arrested is Shamim Patali, identified as the self-styled second-in-command of the group. RAB said the detained individuals are linked to snatching and various other criminal activities in the Mohammadpur area.
A foreign firearm and live rounds were seized from the arrestees during the operation, according to RAB.
RAB-2 said a press conference will be held at a later stage to disclose full details of the operation, the identities of those arrested, and particulars of the recovered arms and other evidence.
