Rakul, Jackky's 'situationship' label for marriage stir fresh buzz in Bollywood
Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh and producer-actor Jackky Bhagnani have stirred fresh debate after describing their married life as a “situationship,” challenging conventional notions of relationships in the film industry.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2024, clarified that their use of the term does not imply uncertainty. Instead, they describe it as a conscious effort to keep their relationship flexible, pressure-free and grounded in mutual understanding.
Bhagnani said open and honest communication is the foundation of their bond, adding that there is “nothing to hide and nothing to fear.” He noted that the couple openly discusses past relationships, which has helped strengthen trust between them.
Singh emphasized the importance of individuality within a marriage, saying personal happiness should not depend solely on a partner. Maintaining one’s identity, goals and professional space, she said, is key to a healthy relationship.
The couple also highlighted that their marriage is free from unrealistic expectations, focusing instead on mutual respect and emotional maturity—factors they believe reduce conflict and foster stability.
Their wedding in Goa, while elegant and high-profile, was relatively restrained by Bollywood standards. Their remarks have since drawn attention for reflecting a modern approach to relationships—one that prioritizes independence, trust and evolving emotional dynamics over traditional labels.
