Rashmika's fierce look in 'Maisa', actress in action with a sickle

Rashmika Mandanna has so far been seen mostly in glamorous roles in romantic films. This time, the popular South Indian actress is stepping out of that familiar image and appearing in a fully action-oriented role. She will be seen in the role of a fearless woman in the upcoming film 'Maisa'.

The teaser of the film was recently released. And there, Rashmika's action scenes one after another caught the attention of the audience. In the teaser, the actress is seen at times running towards her opponent with a sickle in hand, at times getting into a clash, and at other times overpowering opponents with kicks.

Directed by debutant director Rabindra Pulle, Rashmika plays the character of a young woman from a different community in 'Maisa'. The film's story moves forward centring on the struggle to survive amid adverse circumstances and to carve out one's own path.

At the beginning of the teaser, Rashmika's character is seen in a tired and mentally distressed state. However, refusing to give in to the circumstances, she quickly turns things around. Then her fight begins. The teaser also features scenes of her fighting multiple opponents underwater and riding a motorcycle.

Rashmika worked hard to prepare herself physically and mentally for the character. She also suffered a serious injury during an action scene while shooting. It was learned that the tendon connecting the muscle to the bone was torn in that incident. Despite the injury, the actress brought the character to the screen through tough preparation and hard work.

After the release of the teaser, discussion about Rashmika's new look has also begun on social media. Many viewers praised her action scenes in the comments on the Hindi teaser released on YouTube. Some said the actress has this time been presented according to the needs of the character, stepping outside her star image.

'Maisa' is scheduled to be released in theatres in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam on November 27. Besides Rashmika, the film also stars Ishwari Rao, Guru Somasundaram, Rao Ramesh, Rahul Ravindran, Samuthirakani, Shiba Kandukuri, Karthik Ranjini, Tarak Ponnappa and Nidhi Singh. Earlier, Rashmika was seen with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in 'Katakt 2'. This time, it remains to be seen how much her different character in 'Maisa' resonates.
