Real Madrid again the world's most valuable club, know who are in the top 10
Even if they do not always win trophies on the pitch, Real Madrid seem to be playing in a different league in the business race. The club's brand value has increased by 25 percent in one year to €2.40 billion ($2.766 billion). Finishing second in La Liga or going two consecutive seasons without a domestic title has not had much impact here. According to the 2026 updated report by international brand valuation firm 'Brand Finance', Real Madrid have retained the crown of the world's most valuable football club brand for the third consecutive year.
According to the firm's data, the total brand value of the world's top 50 football clubs has reached a record €23.90 billion and enterprise value €79.70 billion. This is the highest recorded growth in a single year in the history of sports brands. Brand value means how valuable a club's 'name' is—an estimate of how much revenue can be generated in the future using just the name. Enterprise value is the financial value of the entire club—roughly how much it would cost if someone wanted to buy the club.
The Brand Finance report says the top 10 clubs now hold more than 60 percent of football's total brand value. That is, the rich have become richer, while the rest are lagging far behind.
In this list, Real Madrid are followed by Barcelona in second place with a brand value of $2.276 billion. However, the biggest surprise in the 2026 ranking is Arsenal. After winning the English Premier League for the first time in 22 years and reaching the Champions League final with a superb performance, the Gunners have climbed to the top three for the first time in history, with their brand value now at $1.772 billion.
Even though on-pitch performance has not been ideal, the renovation of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium has played a major role in increasing Real Madrid's brand value. The 2025-26 season was the first year the stadium was used at full capacity after the renovation. Overflowing revenue from match-day tickets, hospitality, museum visits and tourism has taken the club to a record revenue of €1.20 billion. Hundreds of millions of fans worldwide, international sponsorships and the glamour of superstars like Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Júnior have kept Real Madrid at the unique pinnacle of commercial football.
Barcelona, holding on to second place, increased their brand value by 15 percent to €2.00 billion. Winning La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup for the second consecutive time under coach Hansi Flick played a big role in this. The return to Camp Nou after more than two years has eliminated their ticket and match-day losses, which had created a shortfall of around €100 million per year. Backed by record sponsorships and e-commerce sales, Barcelona are now on the verge of €1 billion in revenue, which has reduced the gap with Real Madrid.
One of the biggest success stories of 2026 is Arsenal. The club has climbed five places to third. Brand value has increased by 28 percent to €1.50 billion. Winning the Premier League after 22 years and reaching the Champions League final has transformed the club's commercial landscape. New stadium and kit deals are taking the club's revenue close to £790 million.
Bayern Munich have moved up two places to fourth with a brand value of $1.748 billion. Along with broadcast, commercial and match-day revenue, their on-field success was also remarkable. Last season, they completed a domestic treble by winning the Bundesliga, German Cup and German Super Cup. Paris Saint-Germain have held on to fifth place with a brand value of $1.734 billion. Despite winning multiple trophies including the Champions League, Ligue 1's limited global appeal has somewhat held back their brand growth.
Despite an increase in brand value, Manchester City have fallen in the rankings from third to sixth with $1.709 billion, Liverpool from fourth to seventh with $1.695 billion and Manchester United from seventh to eighth with $1.659 billion. That is, their rivals have advanced more quickly. In City's case, less success in Europe and the departure of Pep Guardiola have slowed revenue growth. Liverpool's season was not good, but their global brand strength has remained fairly stable.
Chelsea have held on to ninth place with a brand value of $1.101 billion, but instability on the pitch and in the coaching staff has seen them fall back commercially. And after a long decade, Borussia Dortmund have returned to the list of the world's 10 most valuable clubs with a brand value of $766 million. Revenue from broadcasting rights, tickets and merchandising has brought the club back to the elite ranks.
The top 10 most valuable clubs in the world are: Real Madrid ($2.766 billion), Barcelona ($2.276 billion), Arsenal ($1.772 billion), Bayern Munich ($1.748 billion), Paris Saint-Germain ($1.734 billion), Manchester City ($1.709 billion), Liverpool ($1.695 billion), Manchester United ($1.659 billion), Chelsea ($1.101 billion) and Borussia Dortmund ($766 million).
